Language Resources
Keeping languages alive, keeping knowledge alive.
Languages are an essential part of who we are. They carry our stories, traditions, knowledge and ways of understanding the world. When a language disappears, generations of cultural knowledge and history can be lost with it.
At Palms for Life, we believe every language matters. We work alongside Indigenous communities to support efforts to preserve, promote and pass their languages on to future generations.
This page brings together resources, learning materials and information to support the preservation and revitalisation of Indigenous languages.
International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022–2032)
The International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL) is a global initiative dedicated to protecting, promoting and revitalising Indigenous languages. It raises awareness of their importance and encourages action to ensure they continue to be spoken, learned and passed on to future generations.
The IDIL online resource collection brings together materials from organisations and communities around the world, including educational resources, research, publications and practical tools to support language initiatives.
Whether you are a teacher, researcher, language practitioner, community member or simply interested in learning more, the collection offers a valuable starting point.

Every Language Has a Place
Indigenous languages deserve to be valued, protected and given space to thrive in homes, schools and communities. Supporting their revitalisation means helping ensure that future generations can connect with their identities, cultures and the knowledge passed down through generations.
Together, we can help keep languages alive and the knowledge they carry thriving.
